Selma

I learned to knit in 1999, after I broke my ankle playing basketball. I never thought I'd be a knitter or a crocheter, but I have found something I truly enjoy. I have been knitting since then, and working in a yarn shop for almost as long. I've been at Saybrook Yarn, my favorite place to be, since it opened. I've also found, to my surprise, that I enjoy teaching others how to knit and crochet.

Another quick knit

I love shells and vests - no sleeves! A shell pattern I loved was Cabin Fever's patter #253. ALL the finishing was done as part of the knitting!

Gauge swatch, gauge swatch, gauge swatch!

Need I say more?

Large needles

I like knitting on large needles. Quick results make me happy. For a quick summer top, try Ole-Ole by Reynolds on size 9 needles.

Summer yarns

For the summer, I recommend Cascade Sierra or Reynold's Ole Ole. Both are great cottons to work with.
