Summer yarns

Ken

I learned to knit at the age of 7, but begain serious knitting in graduate school prior to the birth of my first child. I began knitting in public in the late 70's, and still get a reaction. I taught my first knitting class about 5 years ago, but have only worked yarn retail for the last two years here at Saybrook Yarn.

Favorite yarns

The store is full of yarns and we're always getting something new, but my two favorites are Tahki's Cotton Classic for my grandchildren, and Lamb's Pride worsted (Brown Sheep)> I love the mohair fuzz.

Getting the right size

Don't forget your gauge swatch. Swatch swatch swatch swatch . . .

Read carefully

Read your instructions carefully! Nothing like being almost done, then reading "double strand"!
